Aviation Medical Requirements
All students pursuing flight training with MFC Training must obtain a Transport Canada Category I Aviation Medical Certificate. This is a mandatory requirement to ensure you meet the medical standards for pilot licensing in Canada.
University Pathways (Mt. Allison University, St. Thomas University and Western University)
Students enrolled in the University Pathways program are encouraged to begin the medical certification process during Year One of their studies.
- Early application helps avoid delays and allows time for any additional medical assessments.
- Students must receive their Category I Medical Certificate before starting flight training in Year Two.
- Without a valid certificate, students will not be permitted to begin flight training.
ICPC and Diploma Programs
- Admission is conditional upon completing your aviation medical with a Transport Canada–approved Civil Aviation Medical Examiner (CAME).
- MFC Training may accept your application once the medical form has been signed and stamped by the examiner.
- However, you must receive your official Category I Medical Certificate before your first solo flight.
Finding an Examiner
You can locate a Transport Canada–approved Civil Aviation Medical Examiner (CAME) by:

Important Notes
- Medical certification timelines can vary depending on individual circumstances.
