True northern flying has always belonged to Canadian airspace. The vast beauty and wilderness of our expansive country is best experienced from the sky. Not only do pilots flying in Canada’s north get to experience this, but they also provide a lifeline to northern Canadians living in remote areas. We sat down for a chat with First Officer Brianna Ricketts and MFC Training alumnus; First Officer Evan Purchase who fly for Air Borealis out of Happy Valley-Goose Bay Labrador. We discussed what it’s like to be a pilot in this region, why they chose to fly here, and more! We also answered questions about what it means to Fly the North. Robin Jacuzzi, Director of Aviation Programs at Exchange Income Corporation, discussed Air Borealis’ involvement in the Life in Flight program and the opportunity to become a pilot and serve the communities you call home.
